Engeny was a proud sponsor of the AusIMM Resourceful FNQ Forum 2024 held in Cairns!
Principal Engineer & Discipline Leader of Closure and Land Remediation, Travis Warren (CPPM, CPEnv, MBA, GAICD) and Senior Engineer, Annaliese Mitchell, proudly represented Engeny.
During the Forum, Annaliese explored the “Barriers to the Adoption of QLD Government Critical Mineral Initiatives.”
Annaliese presented the grants and incentives available for mine operators, through programs such as the Queensland Resources Industry Development Plan and the Critical Minerals Strategy. She queried the audience as to the challenges operators face in accessing these funds, with many expressing that complexity, lack of transparency, and the need for a large investment were deterrents. This highlighted the need for continued support navigating the approvals and compliance landscape to maintain operations, whilst working on sustaining the growth of the critical minerals sector.
